Accessible Resin Driveway and Porcelain Patio, Abingdon
Sarah wanted to transform her driveway and garden to create a safer, more practical and accessible space for herself and her disabled mother. Their existing gravel driveway and uneven pathway made access difficult, particularly for wheelchair use.
To improve both accessibility and appearance, Sarah chose a resin gravel driveway in Essex Silver. The bright non-slip surface created a clean, welcoming entrance while providing a much smoother surface for easier wheelchair access.
The existing pathway had also lost its visual appeal over time and didn’t provide the safe, accessible surface they needed. To improve the flow around the property, a resin gravel path was created to connect the driveway to all entrances of the house, as well as the road path.
By replacing the existing steps with carefully designed resin gravel ramps, we created a seamless, continuous route around the property, allowing for much easier and safer wheelchair access to and from the home.
At the back of the property, Sarah also wanted to create a more accessible and enjoyable outdoor space. A new porcelain patio was installed, complete with a carefully designed ramp leading down into the garden. This created a smooth transition between the house, patio and garden, allowing her mother to enjoy the outdoor space more easily.
By combining a beautiful resin gravel driveway, accessible pathways and a new porcelain patio with a garden ramp, Sarah has created a home that works better for both her and her mother proving that accessibility and beautiful design can go hand in hand.
